How about a holly jolly mini book with a hint of Who-ville?! This new cosmo Cricket line offers a quirky and colorful rendition of one of my most beloved holidays. Join me and create a sweet, 6x6 scalloped mini book which features those great Cosmo papers, stickers and chipboard embellish along with 2 fabulous American Crafts alpha sets, a sleigh full of ribbons, trims, buttons and sparkly goodies. We will paper craft of hearts out and learn how to make a yarn pom- pom to adorn our chunky mini. Winter cupcakes will be served along with a holiday raffle. Join me and get an early start on this adorable Christmas mini! Fun project for you...perfect for a holiday gift!

Supply List: 12" paper trimmer, scissors, your  favorite paper adhesive ,your favorite liquid adhesive (for glitter), Glue dots, dimensional foam adhesive, brown chalk ink pad

Simple Pleasures

I tried to focus on the simple pleasures in life today...like a fresh, new dye job. The smell of the salon and the sounds of foils...ahh, like music to my seriously bored ears. I feel like a new woman. I really needed that. 

I continued on with my day and met a good friend (hi Val!) at Gilding the Lily in Fullerton, CA.

First time visit for me. What a great little store! I saw a few Halloween classes on display there that i'm veeerrryy interested in being a part of. I had Halloween on the brain today while shopping at Gilding. I am the guest designer for Kari's Year of Color blog for October! So i had to stock up on some fresh Halloween inspiration. October is all about black and white...but i couldn't help throwing in just a bit of fuchsia, orange and lavender. I've got to focus on the black and white though...can't wait to share what i come up with!

So anyways, i'm excited to play with it all. Val and i lunched and laughed an went on our merry little ways. I got home and finished up a very cute project i teased about a while. I've got a date and locations to share with you...and i will be selling kits on my website starting late October! More to come...

Hollywood Day, Baby!

We had a blast. We stalked movie stars on our Star Home Tour, had the most delicious ice cream sandwiches near UCLA at Diddy Riese, did the Hollywood sign thang and star walk. The back to Tam's for dinner. I'm all motivated to get my hair dyed after seeing these pics... OMG, those roots. 

 

 

 

 

mmmmmmmm.

Good days include the following:

1. Pedicures...especially neon, zebra print designs.

2. Dinner at Johnnie's Pastromi with Kim and Jenny...cheddar cheese dogs, oh la la! With an extra side of crafting before and after.

Tomorrow (actually later today)...Hollywood day with Chapman alum girls. I can feel another good one coming on...

I scream, you scream, we all scream for...

Feeling Much Better...

...this week. We had an awesome weekend at The Red Bee with classes and make and takes galore. Your comments meant SO so SO SO soooo very much to me. I can't believe all the wonderful support i get through this silly ol' blog. Thank you times a million. I have been trying to answer each and every comment...lots of email to catch up on from this weekend. Looking ahead to a good week, chin up and persevering!

Heartbreak

I kind of had my heart broken this week. I won't go into the details for the sake of holding back emotion and tears...but basically i was denied, dismissed, disappointed, hurt, scared, and grounded. Most of all, grounded. I was on a high. I was dreaming big. I was inspired. Then this week happened. It wasn't really one particular thing...but rather one thing that set off a bunch of other things...then was added to by all of these unforeseen events. We lost a family pet, just to name one tragedy. My sister's sweet pup Jessie is now in doggie heaven with Taffy and Rex. It was sudden. And then X, Y and Z happened on top of it all...and well sometimes i just can't take it. And you know, my worries/problems are probably peanuts to someone else...and i've had to tell myself that more than once in the last couple of days...but seriously, i'm down in the dumps. I'm a little "Ugh". I'm discouraged...which is my least favorite feeling. Miss Positive over here just can't shake it.  I'm trying to mend. I thought if i wrote it out on here it might help. This post is mostly for me. I've got a lot to look forward to. I've got so very much to be thankful for. So i'll shut up and move on. Photo Cred

Some good things...

I saw Julia and Julie and LOVED it! It's got to win something...it won with me, that's for sure.

I made some more rings, read a lot, worked on my Christmas Cosmo Cricket project some more...and we are getting ready for SSS this weekend! This is the last week of my kids class too...i'll be baking tomorrow...cupcakes of course. What else?

B is for Big Bear

I am so thrilled. I watched my friend Kim and her gang make a trip up to the Pages of Tyme cabin in Big Bear for an artistic weekend...and now i feel the extreme need to go myself! We have set a date and i have 9 other friends who will be joining me! They already know who they are - Heather, Allison, Cheri, Lupe, Brenda, Valerie, Echo, Jenny, mom - but i still insisted on sending out some cute invites. I just wanted to make them....don't remember the last time i made coordinated invites and party goodies! It was fun!

I got these monogram cards at Michael's in the $1 section and they had monogram post-it notes and list pads to match! And that CUTE Martha Stewart bandanna paper pack finally went on clearance. Yes! I lined the envelopes with a touch of "campy" looking bandanna craft paper and included a fun little flag that they can later stick on a Big Bear Scrap Weekend page. Then they get a few list pad sheets to get organized for our fun weekend.

((P.S. Every time i go to Michael's i realize more and more why i DON'T want to support them. They never have that one thing i need in the yarn/sewing department and their staff are rude and seriously dumb. I mean, i'm sure they get paid hardly anything, but i would be excelling in any job i had right now because of the real fear of loosing it. Support your local independent scrapbook and craft stores!!! We at the Red Bee will help you with a smile and we usually know a little about what we're selling too - imagine that...an educated and respectful staff! - unlike the staff at the majors. And it makes me SO mad to see all the scrapbook companies that have exclusive lines and products at Micheal's...it makes me not want to support those companies anymore. What are they doing to the loyal, dedicated scrapbook stores who started this whole thing??! So, get your silly $1 finds at the majors, but save your real money for your fav small business who work SO hard to provide for you in this hard time. Ok, i'm done for now, i guess. Thanks for listening.))

So...a little about Pages of Tyme. This place is ADORABLE! Full, beautifully decorated kitchen, 12+ beds, a full scrapbook room complete with lamps and comfy chairs, BBQ in the back yard, minutes away from 2 grocery stores and drive through Starbucks...10 minutes from Big Bear Lake and all the fun! If you're looking for a little winter getaway with friends or the fam...this would be perfect! They kids and hubby can go off skiing and you can scrap! Or go out in the day and scrap in the night! How wonderful to be up there in the snow! And the Pages of Tyme scrapbook store is right down the road too for all your creative needs while you're there!
